SailPoint
Bring SailPoint identity and entitlement context into authorization decisions.
About PlainID + SailPoint
The PlainID Authorization platform manages and controls authorization using policies that define who can access what and when. In order to build precise and diverse policies, PlainID can utilize SailPoint as the main source of identities or as a source for additional identity attributes. The identity information obtained from SailPoint can be synthesized with identity information pulled from other sources for the creation of access policies.
Technical Information
The integration with SailPoint allows using it as an information point for identity attributes and entitlements. The integration is done using a direct connection between PlainID and SailPoint repositories. In this integration option, PlainID will connect to SailPoint repositories using SCIM to retrieve the identity and entitlements data, whenever an access request is sent.
Architectures
- A user accesses the application.
- After authenticating the user, the application makes an access request to the PlainID Platform.
- PlainID Platform fetches the user attributes and entitlements from SailPoint, evaluates the retrieved data against PlainID’s predefined policies, and makes the access decision accordingly.
- The response of what the user can access is sent back to the application.
